NBC Today Show Sports Video: North Carolina State Basketball Player CJ Leslie Saves Wheelchair-Bound Will Privette From Getting Trampled (January 15, 2013)

The following Today show video is about an incident that occurred at the end of a North Carolina State Wolfpack basketball game. This clip is from the January 15, 2013 Today episode.

The Wolfpack had just won their game against Duke. And this is the Duke that was ranked #1 in the country heading into this game. So you can imagine what happened at the buzzer. Fans rushed the court to celebrate. One of those fans was NC State student Will Privette, who gets around in a wheelchair. Privette got knocked over and was in danger of being trampled. That is when basketball player CJ Leslie came to the rescue. He pushed the fans out of the way to make sure Privette didn’t get trampled.

Both Privette and Leslie are interviewed for this clip. You can also see footage of the wild celebration after NC State took down #1 Duke.

Privette said he saw a lot of shoes but was luckily not stepped on by anyone.
