The following Today show video deals with an apparent upcoming Facebook mystery announcement. I know what they seriously need, and that’s an effective search engine for all user posts, pages, etc. The rumor going around is that this may, in fact, be some kind of Facebook search engine. This video aired on the January 15, 2013 episode of the Today show.
This Facebook mystery announcement was scheduled to take place today. Some have pondered whether it’s a Facebook-developed Smartphone. But the company says that is not it. And the other speculation is the search feature. Nothing is confirmed as of now. If the search feature searches Facebook posts only, then it would be valuable but will certainly not be enough to rival Google. That is because Google tracks essentially every website, which means it produces higher-quality and more relevant results than what you would get from what is mostly the spammy or at least promotional content posted by Facebook users.
