Richards was driving a Dodge Ram pickup truck. She lost control, hit a guardrail, went down an embankment, and rolled over. The pickup came to rest upside down. Richards did not survive even though she was wearing a seat belt.

Police say Beacock was driving Hance’s Ford Mustang. Witnesses reported that the car was speeding as it approached a turn. Beacock failed to negotiate the turn and crashed down an embankment.

Police believe that Holst crossed the center line and collided with Browning’s Honda Civic. They say they believe that Holst had been drinking alcohol. But whether he was legally drunk is not something that would be known yet since it takes time to process a toxicology test.

Cause:

A separate accident had already occurred, and Amidon struck the rear of a semi truck that had stopped for that other crash. Another vehicle then hit Amidon, and the chain reaction caused 10 vehicles in all to get involved. Police cited speed as a factor in the crash.

Michelle Gregory is 17. She is a student at Discovery Alternative High School. Gregory was already released from the hospital.

Suspect:

The second driver arrested and charged was not yet identified.

Cause:

Police believe this accident was related to an illegal street race. They think the car with the girls in it was moving at a high rate of speed and was fast approaching another vehicle. The driver ended up going off the road and hitting a tree.

Criminal Charges?

The second driver has been charged with vehicular homicide.

KHQ has a video about this 4-car accident, which occurred on I-90, outside of Spokane, Washington. There is a link below that leads to that video clip.

Victims:

Herlinda Alzate Barrera was the victim killed in this crash. She was 38 years old and lived in Mattawa, Washington. Teen Lorenzo Alzate-Rojas was injured but has already been released. He is 15 and also from Mattawa. Including Lorenzo and 61-year-old Marvin Williamson, a total of 8 victims were injured. Names of the other 6 were not provided. Williamson was the driver of the car occupied by Alzate Barrera and the teenager.

Cause:

A Nissan Frontier lost control, apparently due to the icy and slippery road. After crossing into opposing traffic, a semi hit the Frontier. This caused the semi to go into the opposite lane, where it collided with Williamson’s Prius and a Subaru Outback.

All 8 victims were said to be wearing seat belts, and drunk driving is not suspected as a factor in the crash.

Criminal Charges?

While a final decision has not been made, no one is charged at this time.

KING5.com has released a video about a 6-car pileup on Highway 16. Teen Zack Davis was killed in the crash. He was 18 and had just graduated this year from Curtis High School. You can see a link to the video below. This accident was on Sunday morning, November 24, 2013. It was around 7:45 in the morning.

Cause:

Davis was the first to crash. He hit a barrier and was waiting for a ride in his car when the 6-car pileup took place. One vehicle first hit Davis’s car, and then the chain reaction got the other vehicles involved. Davis died from injuries in this pileup, as he was not injured from the initial incident.

Police said the roads were icy, but that both Davis and the first car that hit his vehicle were driving too fast for the road conditions.

Criminal Charges?

There are no charges at this time. Authorities said the driver of the car that hit Davis first would receive one or more traffic citations.
