As part of the measles outbreak and public health scare, 14 children have been quarantined in Santa Monica, California. They were all attending the same day care center.
A baby at the day care was confirmed to already have measles. That caused health officials to decide to quarantine the other kids to be on the safe side.
The day care is the Santa Monica High School Infant Toddler Center. It is closed, as of Monday, February 2, 2015.
The kids are babies, and they will be quarantined for 21 days. The older children were not forced to undergo quarantine.
NBC Los Angeles has a video report with more on this measles quarantine story.
Kevin Boellart was being prosecuted for identity theft and extortion in connection with a revenge-porn website that he ran. An example of revenge porn would be if a mad ex-boyfriend posted a sex tape of his former girlfriend without her permission.
Boellart is from San Diego, California. He is 28 and might get 20 years in prison.
Boellart allegedly extorted women who wanted their pictures removed by demanding money for their removal. Some were desperate enough to pay up to $350.

Brien Leary and Robert Belton have been arrested in Novato, California, on Friday, July 25, 2014.
At about 11 at night, police pulled over a car on Center Road. A police dog sniffed out some alleged meth and drug paraphernalia.
Leary is 47, and Belton is 64. They live in Novato.
The men were arrested because they are suspected of meth possession, drug paraphernalia possession, and being under the influence of drugs.
The report did not say who was driving. It isn’t clear whether these drugs can be linked to both suspects. The amount of drug was not mentioned. But it may have been relatively small since the suspects are not accused of dealing drugs.
The original stop was based only on a suspected traffic violation.
Teen Javier Lule has been arrested on drug charges in Blythe, California, on Thursday, July 24, 2014.
A house was searched in the 400 block of Palm Drive. They say they found marijuana, some plants, and honey oil, which is a kind of cannabis.
Charges against Lule include marijuana possession for sale plus cultivating marijuana.
It was not clear exactly why the police believe Lule is the responsible party, unless it was a matter of him living there and the drugs being in plain view. But they did have a search warrant, so maybe there is other evidence.
Victim: Heron Moran – 34 years old
Suspect: not known
City, State: Salinas, California
Address: 1036 North Sanborn Road
Date: Saturday, July 19, 2014
Time: 6:53 in the evening
This is a pretty creepy situation. Someone shot Heron Moran. A police officer was driving by and happened to see that people were carrying him towards an apartment that they say Moran lived in. When these people saw the police, they ran away.
The cops think that these were gang members trying to hide Moran’s body after someone in the group shot him.
Police believe there may have been an argument that led to the shooting. Some of Moran’s own friends are believed to know who shot him. But they say they aren’t talking to police.
The other disgusting thing that happened is about 40 people allegedly tried to block police from getting to Moran so they could help him. It’s absolutely sickening behavior and reminds me, at least, that I had a gift not to have to grow up in such a neighborhood. Imagine actually being a good person and growing up in such a place.
