Jessica Sanchez has made it to the Top 5 on the 11th season of American Idol. Although she had to be saved by the judges in the Top 7, Jessica is still considered one of the four favorites, along with Joshua, Skylar, and Philip. Hollie is considered the extreme longshot to win.
For Top 5 Week, Jessica will sing a 60s song and a British song. The 60s theme is probably better for Jessica because she can pick a soul song to display the edgier side of her voice. This is something that she is still developing, but it is what makes her more than just a pop diva. So she should embrace that soulful side.
I will post the YouTube video of Jessica’s 60s song after American Idol releases it in the official account. Until then, have a look at Sanchez’s performance of “Dance With My Father” in the Top 6.
Jessica performed Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary.” It’s hard to come off unique on this overperformed song. Jessica tried to dance and show a different side. I’d say this is not a great song choice, but she has one more song tonight to hit a home run.
