One mark of an excellent singer and musician is the ability to take a song you hate and actually love it. I can’t stand that song “Tomorrow” from “Annie.” But this Tori Kelly cover put a huge smile on my face.
Her vibrato is one of the best I have ever heard. The vocal tone on her soft notes just makes me melt. Kelly has the softness of an Eva Cassidy with the power notes of Christina Aguilera. And she can even play the guitar on top of that.
This girl should have waited for American Idol. As good as she was while being unfairly cut by the judges in a lackluster Season 9, Tori just gets better and better. She may or may not ever get famous, but it won’t be from lack of talent. And I haven’t even mentioned her personality, which is amazing enough on its own.
