The following CNN news video deals with both politics and potential legal issues. It names Frederick Humphries as the FBI agent that was contacted by Jill Kelley in reference to alleged threatening emails received by Petraeus mistress, Paula Broadwell. This clip is from The Situation Room. It was added to the CNN website on November 15, 2012.
The video gives the detailed breakdown of Humphries’s involvement. It sounds a bit odd that he reported what Jill Kelly told him to a politician. This seems extremely unprofessional.
According to this video, Broadwell wrote an anonymous email to General John Kelly, warning him in some fashion about Florida socialite Jill Kelley. Allen then forwarded the email to Kelly. Then, Kelly apparently knew Frederick Humphries or something and sent him the Broadwell email.
For some reason, FBI agent Humphries then discussed the email with Dave Reichert, who represents the state of Washington in the U.S. House of Representatives. Reichert then had Humphries talk to Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, who then went to FBI Director Robert Mueller.
At some point, Humphries, who has been alleged to have sent shirtless pics to Jilly Kelley, had been taken off the case. This video is not clear as to exactly when he was removed from the case or whether it was before or after he contacted Representative Dave Reichert. It is also not clear why the case was seemingly kept quiet and then only exposed after the politicians were informed.
