Skylar Laine has made it to the Top 5 of American Idol 11 as the only country singer in the Top 13. She was in the bottom 3 last week with Elise and Hollie, and Elise was eliminated. If Skylar can get through the next two weeks, she will probably make the finale. There won’t be a country theme, but unlike Scotty McCreery, Laine is comfortable singing in multiple genres.
Skylar will sing a 60s song and a British song for the Top 5. I will embed the YouTube video of her 60s-theme performance in this article. American Idol generally uploads the official videos early on Thursdays.
You can also watch Laine’s British-theme performance by going to my home page and checking out all my other American Idol 11 Top 5 articles.
Until the official video is posted of her 60s song choice, I have embedded the YouTube video of Skylar Laine’s Top 8 “Wind Beneath My Wings,” which is one of her most popular performances in Season 11.
Skylar is singing Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Fortunate Son.” There was a lot of power in this performance. I really enjoyed it.
