Dia Frampton finished in 2nd place on the 1st season of The Voice. In fact, she actually hit #1 on iTunes the night of the finale. But Javier Colon edged her out in the public vote to win the title.
Dia released her first album, “Red,” after the show. Both she and Javier have had disappointing sales on their post-show albums, but it is also important to consider that they didn’t get that much promotion. Unlike American Idol, they were mostly left out there on their own.
Frampton will be performing “Don’t Kick The Chair” (featuring Kid Cudi) on the Top 8 results show of The Voice 2. That episode airs on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. It begins at 9 Eastern time and lasts one hour.
The other finalists from Season 1 will also be performing on the same results show, including Javier Colon, Vicci Martinez (with Cee Lo Green), and Beverly McClellan (with Cyndi Lauper).
Kid Cudi had some seriously weak rap, and there was little to no style in Dia’s vocal. It’s like she’s allergic to showing any power at all. It sounded like Paint By The Numbers for singing. She showed some range, but the high notes were even weaker than the middle range.
