American Idol just started performance-episode duets and trios for Season 11. Previously, groups gave performances only on the results episodes. I like this change overall, although I would be hesitant to use it for voting purposes because contestants are often forced to sing a group song that doesn’t even fit their voice or style.
But there are some real gems lately in these group performances. In fact, my favorite performance of the whole season is Elise and Philip’s “Somebody That I Used to Know.”
For the Top 5 , there is one duet and one trio. I am writing this before the show because there are song spoilers out, but they did not say who was singing which song. So I am just listing the songs for now and will fill in the rest after the performances.
