The last two weeks, Hollie Cavanagh has had at least one performance that the judges raved about. And the last two weeks, she has been in the bottom 2, anyway. She and Elise are perpetual basement dwellers in the voting. Now that Elise was eliminated in the Top 6, Hollie is starting out the Top 5 as the odds-on choice to be eliminated.
No matter what the theme is, about the most that Hollie can do is try to pick songs she is already familiar with and drive them home with her soaring power notes. Even if she has two of her best performances, it is not clear that Hollie can be saved.
Unless the producers are trying to save her, Cavanagh won’t be going last again, which was a benefit she had in the Top 6 that still saw her land in the bottom 2. This takes away one advantage she had in Top 6 voting.
I’ll post more on the theme and any other Hollie Top 5 news as it is available.
Updates:
The theme for the Top 5 is British music, and Hollie is British. She couldn’t have a better dream theme than this. It’s almost like they are trying to save her for another week.
