Strayer University MBA Program Admissions Tips

Strayer University is a university with several physical campuses that also offers online degree programs. You can earn an MBA at Strayer, as well. Admissions standards are fairly low. Reasons why you might wish to apply to Strayer are if you need the convenience of an online education or you need a backup choice in case you fail to gain admission to your most desired MBA schools.

The other thing that is convenient about Strayer is that you pretty much go at your own pace. The average finishing time for the MBA program is about 4.5 years, but you can also earn your degree in as little as 18 months.

Strayer has campuses in multiple states, including Alabama, Arkansas, D.C, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.

Strayer has fairly low minimum requirements for admission into its MBA programs. The following are the graduate admission requirements:

1. A bachelor’s degree
2. One of the following:
a. GMAT score of at least 450;
b. GRE score of at least 1000;
c. 2.75 GPA over the last 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of the undergrad degree (typically junior and senior years); or
d. Special qualifications that would lead the school to believe that you have the potential to graduate despite not having the requisite GPA or test scores.

Typically, you would need three years of work experience under qualification d.

Unlike most MBA degree programs, you don’t have to worry much about getting a competitive GMAT score or high GPA. Just meet the minimum. There is also no work-experience requirement, but most Strayer MBA students have some experience. According to the 2004 class profile compiled by Businessweek, the average age was 33.

As far as I can tell, there is no TOEFL requirement at Strayer.

For MBA programs, most schools allow you to enroll regardless of your major. However, it is helpful to take math, statistics, and accounting. These are not required but can be helpful in completing your studies.

Enrollment options differ by state. To get more information about enrolling to earn an MBA at Strayer University, call, fax, or email using the below information:
