“Swamp People” Cable TV Ratings For Thursday, April 19, 2012: #1 On Cable

The History Channel’s “Swamp People” was the #1-rated cable TV show on Thursday, April 19, 2012. In terms of viewers, it was rated #1 all by itself, with 4.46 million viewers. In terms of the 18-to-49 demographic, it was tied with TNT’s NBA basketball, with a 1.5. Family Guy and an episode of The Big Bang Theory also had a 1.5 but fewer overall viewers. These ratings numbers are for all cable television shows, not just the 9:00 p.m. slot.

Compared to network TV ratings for April 19, 2012, “Swamp People” had a higher demo rating than CW’s The Secret Circle in the same time slot and was tied with Person of Interest. It also had more overall viewers than The Office, The Secret Circle, and Parks and Recreation.

Network TV shows that beat “Swamp People” in the demo ratings included Grey’s Anatomy, The Office, Touch, and Parks and Recreation. In the 9:00 p.m. slot, Grey’s Anatomy had the most viewers, at 9.8 million. Person of Interest had about 8.8 million, and Touch had about 7.3 million.
