Dateline NBC was #1 for the whole night in TV ratings for the 18-to-49 demographic for Friday, April 20, 2012. It did a 1.4 in the 10 p.m. time slot. At the same time, ABC’s 20/20 had a 1.3, and Blue Bloods had a 0.8. However, in terms of viewership, Blue Bloods had about 6.2 million to Dateline’s 5.8 million. Even in total viewership, Dateline was third among all network shows for the night. In addition to Blue Bloods, a rerun of CSI:NY had about 6.2 million viewers. However, that CSI:NY show only had a 0.8 rating.
In terms of the demo, the only shows that really came that close to Dateline were Grimm, 20/20, and What Would You Do?, with a 1.3, and Shark Tank and The Finder, with a 1.2.
