American Idol 11 (2012) Top 5 Theme and Song Choices

The American Idol 11th season has reached its Top 5. The remaining contestants are Philip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet, Skylar Laine, and Hollie Cavanagh.

The theme is British music. This random theme covers such a huge array of songs across virtually all genres (except maybe country music) in the Rock Era that it pretty much means nothing. However, because Hollie is British, maybe this will give her the upper hand to last one more week. Is this arbitrary theme designed to help Cavanagh survive another week? I wouldn’t put it past the show to pull that trick. I can just see it now. Hollie will pick any British song, and the judges will hilariously claim that that was in her wheelhouse.

Song spoilers will be released on the day of the performance show. They usually come out 4 to 6 hours before start time.

Check out the American Idol 11 Top 5 singing British songs on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. The show is on FOX and starts at 8 Eastern time.
