Margate, Florida Crime News: Luis Jhon Shot And Killed By Terrell Kennith Johnson At Walmart; Suspect Committed Suicide

According to a report in the Sun Sentinel, Luis Jhon was shot and killed by Terrell Kennith Johnson at a Coral Springs, Florida Walmart. This incident occurred on Friday, September 21, 2012.

Johnson had been stopped for attempting to steal some T-shirts. As Jhon helped an employee deal with the situation, Johnson pulled out a gun, shot the victim, and fled.

There will be no murder case for this crime because Terrell Kennith Johnson shot and killed himself.

It is just mind-boggling to see what some of these criminals do. The guy tries to steal less than $20 worth of T-shirts and gets caught. To avoid an extremely minor shoplifting charge, he shoots a man with a gun and then shoots and kills himself.

Jhon had previously worked in that store but was not working there on the day he was killed.

Not to blame the victim here, but what exactly was Luis Jhon doing? If a loss prevention officer for Walmart is attacked, then absolutely help him. It doesn’t seem appropriate for a customer (even a former employee of the store) to be helping the store when he is not an employee. This could also get Walmart in legal trouble.

Now, I’m not saying that Jhon did anything wrong. Perhaps Johnson was showing aggression, prompting Jhon to assist the Walmart employee. The report doesn’t say exactly what happened. The point is Walmart needs to react more quickly with MORE THAN ONE EMPLOYEE if there are problems with a shoplifting customer. They shouldn’t be relying on some random customer to help them out and should not allow customers to help for this very reason. The customer could be killed. And now Walmart may have a lawsuit on its hands.

Jimmy please……you did not review your facts. It’s not my job to school you. I was present at the terrible event and you have no idea the damage done by sloppy reporting. His wife has been interviewed and his son. I’ll give you a hint…..he was not a “past” employee. Get your head out from inside your ass and report the truth.

According to the report I read, he was not on duty. Even if he was still working there, he’s only supposed to be doing it during his own work hours. So he was a “customer” on that day.

I am not responsible for being omniscient. The article I read clearly stated that he had worked there but was only shopping with his wife that day. I cited the article and based my comments off of that. If the facts were wrong in the original article, then common sense tells you you can disregard that part of my analysis. And I clearly stated that I do not blame the victim.

If you work in a location and see a co-worker in trouble, this kind of guy (Mr. Jhon) tries to help the situation by utilizing his years of experience in dealing with hostile persons. Jhon was a retired NYC corrections officer and had a lifetime of dealing with hostile people, in the wrong. His wife has been interviewed and has stated that her husband had been called to the scene by “Walmart” to help the co-worker, who was on duty. I don’t know how a court is going to rule on his work status at the moment of death, based on the limited reporting on that particular subject. But, you certainly do not know the details (as I don’t), and my comment was placed at professional journalism and the need to wait before jumping to false conclusions….and dat’s dat!
