For the American Idol 11 Top 6, each contestant sang a Queen song. Elise chose “I Want It All,” a good choice for her rock voice. In fact, it seems Elise needs to go the rock route because her unique, high-level runs and other advanced techniques seem to be under-appreciated by the voting public. But if she can rock it out, at least she gets their attention. And she can also throw in some nice runs or scatting or other techniques to please fans like me at the same time.
This “I Want It All” iTunes studio version is a pretty typical but great rock performance. You can listen to it in the YouTube video posted below. She could have shown more of her uniqueness, but this was another success from the versatile Elise Testone. Hopefully, she has at least one week left.
