Predictions:

I am writing this before the Top 3 results show. A few weeks ago, I predicted that Philip and Skylar would make the finale. Of course, Skylar Laine went out in fifth place. So I blew that prediction. But Philip did make the Top 3 and had a great closing performance of Bob Seger’s “We’ve Got Tonight.” He has a good chance of making the finale. It is a virtual tossup between Jessica and Joshua. Although both could make it, most people online seem to think it will be Philip and either Jessica or Joshua.

If Philip makes it, I predict that he will win in the finale no matter who he faces. If Jessica and Joshua make it, I predict Jessica will win.

Updates: Philip and Jessica are in the American Idol 11 finale. As previously stated, my prediction is that Philip will win. I wrote this when I made my early predictions, and I have never wavered all season. I have definitely been wrong about some of the other contestants, though. Joshua was actually my favorite left in the Top 3, but even I can see he was plagued by bad song choice. Although Jessica had bad song choices, too, at least her choices were popular songs that people could identify with. And her “My All” performance was arguably better than anything Joshua did in the Top 3.

Philip seems to fit the demographic, so he is the better prediction. Jessica would have to be the first saved contestant plus the first 16-year-old singer to win American Idol. Of course, records were made to be broken. Anything is possible.
