Christina Aguilera just eliminated Jesse Campbell on the first performance episode of The Voice 2 Top 16. This is rigged. There is no way that this had anything to do with the performances. I even stated in my article about Jesse’s performance that they may be setting Jesse up on purpose to make way for Lindsey Pavao to easily make the finals. They want Lindsey in the finale cause at least it will look good on the iTunes sales.
She claimed Jesse didn’t grow as much as the others. That is pure hogwash. Christina and/or the producers saddled him with Beyonce’s “Halo” for the Top 16, and he still managed to bring it home in the end. And the show is not about growth. Jesse is freaking 42. He already knows how to sing. He doesn’t need to improve his singing. He needed a better song choice but still obviously was miles better than Ashley and the others.
This is probably the most blatantly rigged act I have seen in reality TV since the last two seasons of Project Runway.
Congrats, Mark Burnett. You just lost all credibility. This show is longer about The Voice.
I think that Christina Aguilera’s elimination of Jesse Campbell was purely personal. I think perhaps he (being the only male on her team) didn’t respond favorably to that ridiculous, ill fitting, inappropriate outfit she chose to wear while performing in front of a high school gospel choir! B-O-G-U-S!. She and the show are off my list!
I totally agree - she totally disrepected that high school gospel choir with her poor choice in clothes (if you call that outfit clothes). Lindsay Pavao was horrible - would not waste a plug nickel on her music. She is losing alot of credibility with fans that have a brain. Not to mention that she has just been the epitomy of a “Mean Girl” this season. Christina it is not about you - it is supposed to be abouthe “The Voice”.
Yes, I said the same thing that they gave him the song halo because it was intended to minimize his performance to justify the cut they were planning on making. I am no longer supporting Christina and her team what so ever. I will be supporting Jermaine Paul. He is another great artist. I think Jesse had so much going for him. I didn’t think the voice was a mentorship program. I thought you were looking for the Voice. Ashley has potential but she definitely didn’t out perform Jesse. Adam’s look on his face was in amazement because no one from her team will win for sure! I won’t be voting for any of them. Lyndsey or Chris didn’t out perform him either. She is looking for a team of versatility. I think it would have been fair if that were so to give Jesse that constructive feedback and give him a chance to show versatility. You constantly gave him good feedback. The other judges are quite honest about the feedback they provide so that the contender can improve. You have never had anything to tell Jesse. In Celo’s words, he sung the hell of that Halo song. Maybe you elimiated him because you didn’t feel like you needed to mother him in areas like the others. He’s not perfect but he didn’ need all of your coaching so you eliminated him.
They need to have an option for team members to change coaches. How about that for an impromtu, let them move around to different coaches and see who offers the best advice. That will liven the show! Put the coaches on their toes!
