YouTube Video: Candice Glover’s Performance Of “Cried” Single On Live With Kelly And Michael

Candice Glover is the winner of American Idol 12. She is supposedly going to release an album called “Music Speaks,” but it keeps getting delayed. But for now, she has put out a song called “Cried.” This is the lead single for the upcoming album.

Candice appeared on Live With Kelly and Michael to sing “Cried.” She was on the Tuesday, December 17, 2013 episode.

Glover is pretty much a flop so far in music sales. Unlike Scotty and Phillip, who both went platinum with their singles, Candice crawled her way into the top 10 on iTunes with “I Am Beautiful,” but she then quickly disappeared. That song peaked at #93 on the Billboard Hot 100 and only made #33 on the R&B chart. “Cried” was not listed in the top 1500 on iTunes when I checked. However, some of this does not appear to be Candice’s fault. I mean, Scotty and Phillip have been everywhere. But Candice is almost nowhere to be found. It seems she isn’t getting promoted like the others.

American Idol 12 YouTube Video: Candice Glover Interview And Performance Of “I Am Beautiful” On Live With Kelly And Michael

The following YouTube video contains an interview and musical performance from Candice Glover, who won the 12th season of American Idol last week.

The video is from the Live With Kelly and Michael morning talk show. After the interview, Candice performs her Idol coronation song and first post-Idol single, “I Am Beautiful.” ITunes sales of “I Am Beautiful” have been embarrassing so far. After peaking at about #10, it has plummeted to #38 already. This has to be considered a failure, considering that Phillip Phillips’ “Home” shot to #1 on iTunes within hours of his Season 11 win.

Vocally, this was a fine performance. There’s just isn’t much going on with this song. The lyrics also make the woman who is the subject of the song an aspiring cheater. Totally inappropriate for an Idol coronation song.

This video just got uploaded hours ago. At the time of writing, it showed 301+ views and had a perfect early user rating of 21 Likes and 0 Dislikes.

Candice Glover Performs “I Am Beautiful” (American Idol Coronation Song) On Jay Leno’s Tonight Show

The following music video contains an interview and performance of Candice Glover. She just won American Idol 12. The first part of this Dailymotion video is Candice’s interview the night after winning. She captured the crown on Thursday, May 16, 2013. So this interview is from Friday, May 17.

After the interview, Glover performed “I Am Beautiful.” This is her coronation song, which is the song that Idol champions sing after winning the crown. That song is also released as the winner’s first single after the show. Last I checked, Candice peaked at #10 so far on the iTunes main singles rankings.

Fast forward through about 4 minutes or so of the interview if you want to get straight to the “I Am Beautiful” coronation-song performance.

American Idol 12 (2013) Candice Glover Music Singles iTunes Sales Rankings (“I Am Beautiful” And Others)

Candice Glover and Kree Harrison made the finals of American Idol 12. However, we really don’t know how popular they are with sales of their singles (studio performances) during the season because Idol has a deal with iTunes to not publish the songs on their charts. This is a really odd thing to continue doing when considering that they released voting results at certain times for the first time in Season 12.

Nonetheless, after the finale is over (Thursday, May 16, 2013) iTunes starts showing the rankings of the singles that were released during the season plus Candice’s and Kree’s coronation singles. I have also heard that they will release Angie Miller’s single, “You Set Me Free.”

As soon as iTunes starts showing the rankings for Candice Glover’s for “I Am Beautiful” and other singles, I will list them below. That should be on Friday, May 17, 2013.

Update:

As of 7 in the morning, on Friday, May 17, 2013, Candice, who won last night on Idol, is having bad early results on her coronation single, “I Am Beautiful.” It has crept up from around #65 to around #32. On this same day last year, Phillip Phillips hit #1 with “Home.” That’s not it, though. Phillip had 5 or 6 other songs he performed throughout the season in the iTunes top 100. Candice has NO other songs in the top 100.

As bad as “I Am Beautiful” is doing, it is still better than Kree Harrison’s “All Cried Out” so far. Over that same time period, Kree has moved up from about #200 to #91.

Update:

About 3 hours after the update above, Candice has moved up to #18. Kree has also improved and is up to #52. None of these finalists’ other Idol recordings is in the top 100.

Update:

At 5 p.m. Eastern time, “I Am Beautiful” is up to #10 on iTunes. Kree’s “All Cried Out” is at #29.

Update:

Ouch. After peaking right around #10, Candice’s single started to plummet. Just 6 days after the finale, it is at #70.

American Idol 12 (2013) Kree Harrison Music Singles iTunes Sales Rankings (“All Cried Out” And Other Studio Performances)

Candice Glover and Kree Harrison made the finals of American Idol 12. This is a really odd thing to continue doing when considering that they released voting results at certain times for the first time in Season 12.

I will make a list below of Kree Harrison’s iTunes singles sales rankings, including her coronation song of “All Cried Out,” as soon as the rankings are available. That will probably be late Thursday or early Friday, May 17, 2013.

Update:

Kree finished in 2nd place last night on Idol. So it’s not surprising that Candice is ahead of her. Kree is #91 on iTunes, as of Friday, May 17, 2013, at about 7 in the morning. At #32, Candice’s rankings are disappointing so far for a winner’s coronation song.

None of Kree’s or Candice’s other performances in Season 12 are in the top 100. This is horrible compared to last year, when Phillip Phillips had 6 or 7 songs in the top 100 all by himself.

Update:

3 more hours after the update above, Kree has improved her ranking some to #52. Candice has now made the top 20 and was at #18 at the time of this update.

Update:

Kree improved to #28 by 5 p.m. Eastern (still Friday). This is way better than what Jessica Sanchez was doing last year (she wasn’t even in the top 100). But Candice, who is at #10, is way behind Phillip’s #1 ranking from last season.

Update:

Kree peaked at around #28. 6 days after the finale, she has dropped all the way out of the top 100.

Angie Miller Music Singles iTunes Sales Rankings For “You Set Me Free” And Other American Idol 12 (2013) Studio Performances

Angie Miller finished 3rd on the 12th season of American Idol. Candice Glover and Kree Harrison made the finals. As a result, we can probably expect Candice and Kree to have higher iTunes sales rankings overall as soon as iTunes releases the rankings. They do not do this because Idol instructs them not to display rankings during the season. I hate that stupid policy, and it should be abolished. But it is what it is.

Despite Angie finishing 3rd, I have heard that Idol’s people will be releasing her original, “You Set Me Free,” to be sold on iTunes. And if she performs in on the Thursday, May 16, 2013 Idol finale (that is the rumor), then this could give her a nice early boost in sales.

Update: I just read that Angie will not be performing “You Set Me Free” in the Thursday finale. This is a real bummer. But the single is being released.

As soon as the finale is over or within hours after it, iTunes should be showing the rankings for “You Set Me Free” and the studio performances recorded by Miller during the season. I will provide a list of them as soon as they are available. That will probably be either on Thursday after the grand finale or Friday, May 17.
