Raleigh, North Carolina Accident News: Millbrook High School Graduate, Olivia McBurney, Struck By Tow Truck And Killed At Thornton Road And Wadford Drive

A recent graduate of Millbrook High School has been killed in a pedestrian accident. She was killed in the northern part of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Where:

Intersection of Thornton Road And Wadford Drive

When:

Friday, March 8, 2013, at about 1 in the afternoon

Victim:

Olivia McBurney was a recent graduate of Millbrook High School. She was 19 years old.

Cause:

Witnesses said Olivia was wearing earphones and walked into the side of the tow truck. While it’s obviously not possible to say exactly what happened, it appears that she just lost focus on the traffic and didn’t realize the truck was there.

Another thing that was mentioned was that McBurney had some kind of mental disability. It is not totally clear whether that played a role in this accident.

Criminal Charges:

Based on what we know now, it doesn’t seem as if anyone will be charged with any crimes.
