Philip Phillips is a strong favorite to win now and probably always was since his initial audition. In fact, he is the only one who still hasn’t hit the bottom 3. Jessica had to be saved by the judges, Joshua and Skylar have hit the bottom 3 only once or twice, and Elise and Hollie are perpetual bottom dwellers. While it is generally true that one bad week in voting can sink you, there is no reason to believe that Philip will not be in the finale at this point. All roads lead to a finale with Philip and either Skylar, Joshua, or Jessica.
Philip is doing Dave Matthews Band’s “The Stone.” Well, people keep accusing him of impersonating Dave Matthews, which I find silly. He may as well do it and get it over with, though. Randy and Steven seemed to love it. Jennifer thought the song was too obscure. Philip will continue to be divisive, I suppose. If he is not in the bottom 3 tomorrow, then expect him to make the finale.
