YouTube Video: American Idol 13 (2014) Spoilers, Audition, And Predictions For Briston Maroney

Briston Maroney has made it to the Top 30 during Hollywood Week of American Idol 13, according to The Idol Pad. He is one of the fifteen boys, and they are joined by 15 girls.

The 13th season of American Idol premieres on Wednesday, January 15, 2013. Keith Urban is returning as a judge from his first season last year. Jennifer Lopez is coming back after taking one season off. Harry Connick Jr. is a new judge for the first time in Season 13. Randy Jackson is now the in-house mentor, and Jimmy Iovine is out.

A site called The Idol Pad has released spoilers in the past, and they have been a reliable source thus far. This and all other 30 spoiler articles I am writing are based on the list that The Idol Pad provided. Of course, there is no absolute guarantee that contestants listed here will actually make it. Singers can pretty much be eliminated at any time and for any reason. With that said, you can check out the full list of Top 30 spoilers for American Idol 13 here.

Contestant: Briston Maroney

Predictions:

Audition:

I will add the YouTube video for Briston Maroney’s audition as soon as it airs on American Idol.

Background Information And Music Video Links:

According to spoilers, Briston either was or is a member or a teen band called “Subtle Clutch.” According to that band’s YouTube channel’s About page, they are from Knoxville, Tennessee. The band also has about 9 videos published on that channel.

Subtle Clutch has an original song here called “Railroad.” Their music kind of reminds me of the Beverly Hillbillies. As far as Briston Maroney’s voice, he is competent and actually kind of similar to Phillip Phillips, but in more of the country or bluegrass arena. I could definitely see him getting votes and going pretty far. He is someone I could at least see having some potential for the finals or winning. It’s feel-good music if he makes the right song choices. But his tone is a liability. It just doesn’t evoke a lot of emotion in the performances I have seen so far. But maybe I haven’t seen the best of him yet.
