The following video comes from The Weather Channel. It gives an update to Tropical Storm Florence. The video was uploaded to their website on August 4, 2012. Before discussing Florence in detail, the video gives a good report on Tropical Storm Ernesto, which is more likely to hit the Unites States than Florence at thist point in time.
AT the time of this video, Tropical Storm Florence is 680 miles west of the Cape Verde Islands. Winds are at about 60 miles per hour, and Florence is heading west-northwest at 15 miles per hour.
The Cape Verde Islands are way over close to Africa. So Tropical Storm Florence is a long way from the United States at this time. While it is expected to come across the Atlantic, indications are that it will probably be a weak storm.
