The Aurora Australis is a phenomenon that displays what looks like colorful lights in the sky. It is the southern version of the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights. The following video, which is from The Weather Channel, shows time-lapse footage of the Aurora Australis. It was captured by a photographer in Tekapo, New Zealand. The video was added to The Weather Channel’s website on July 16, 2012.
