This article is for the performance and results of Cassadee Pope’s Battle Round. She is on Blake Shelton’s team.
Cassadee was paired up against Ryan Jirovec. In a surprising edit, Pope’s matchup was chosen to be placed in one of those ridiculous montages that shows 2 or 3 Battle Round audition for only a few seconds each. So I can’t give any opinions on this performance because it wasn’t really shown.
Pope should easily win her Battle Round. She has had either the most pre-show success or at least has been one of the most successful out of the 64 contestants for Season 3 who have made the Battle Round. She toured with a band called Hey Monday and has over 100,000 followers on Twitter. Cassadee appears to already be leading on iTunes. The blind auditions don’t sell very well on iTunes, but I already saw her in the Top 100 after her audition. I was not personally that impressed. But look for Cassadee Pope to be a favorite to at least make the Top 8 and possibly the finals.
Battle Round Results and Impressions:
Blake picked Cassadee Pope as the winner of this matchup. This is one of those singers that you fully expect to make the Top 8. She has an existing fanbase that is going to probably make her the biggest iTunes seller, at least in the Knockout Round.
Ryan Jirovec has been eliminated from this competition because none of the other judges turned his chair to save him.
The Voice premiered its 3rd season on September 10, 2012. As with the previous two seasons, the show starts out with blind auditions as the first stage of the competition. That phase of the competition is over.
With all 4 teams now full, the contest now moves on to the Battle Rounds. There is a new twist this season. If a coach does not pick a contestant in a head-to-head battle, another coach can push his button to steal that team member.
Previously, the Battle Rounds were entirely too controversial, with contestants who deserved to move forward getting bad matchups by the judges or producers. This caused potential favorites to be knocked out of the running even before the first live voting round.
For Season 3, though, a new tweak allows the other judges to recruit a singer who was eliminated in a battle round. These “steals” are probably all predetermined by the producers and judges. But at least it avoids the stupid results of the first two seasons.
