Joel Smith Suspected Of Murder-Suicide; Heather Smith, Jason Montez, Noah Montez, And Lily Smith Shot And Killed: Saco, Maine Crime Video

This was a Saco, Maine shooting. It was on Water Street, on Saturday, July 26, 2014.

Police suspect that Joel Smith (33) committed a murder-suicide against his own family members.

Heather Smith was 35. Joel’s stepson, Jason Montez, was 12. He allegedly killed two biological kids, as well. Noah Montez was 7, and Lily Smith was 4.

There was no suicide note, but the family might have had financial problems.

There was no hard proof provided yet that Joel Smith did it. However, at least one person says that he threatened suicide recently. The belief he did it is apparently based on the positioning of the bodies, gun, etc.

Freyburg Crime Video: Vaughan C. Renaud Arrested On Cocaine Drug Charges

This arrest was in Fryeburg, Maine, but the suspect is from Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts.

Vaughan C. Renaud has been charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The arrest was on Saturday, July 26, 2014. It was about 8 at night.

Renaud was at a campsite near the Saco River. Somehow, he was searched, and authorities say they found 14 grams of cocaine. There may be some issue about whether the search was constitutional. It was not stated why a search was even initiated to begin with.

The suspect is out on $1000 bail.

Police believe that Porter struck the rear of Lagase’s logging truck. It is not clear what caused this collision to happen.

Craig Gage is 23 and from Saco, Maine. He went to the hospital but was expected to survive.

Cause:

Police say witnesses reported to them that Gage drifted to the side of the road. It was icy in that area, and he overcorrected. Gage’s van then went across the road into oncoming traffic and struck Wright’s Dodge minivan. At the time of the accident, Gage was driving a company transportation van that is owned by National Distributors, Inc.

Criminal Charges?

Gage has not been charged with any crimes at the present time.
