Wayne Grothe, who was 23 and from Hoffman Estates, has been killed in a motorcycle accident in Schaumburg, Illinois. The date was Monday, July 28, 2014, at about 1 in the afternoon.
The driver involved was a woman who is 77 and from Schaumburg.
The motorcycle and Ford collided near the intersection of Roselle Road and Hartford Drive.
The woman sustained only minor injuries.
No charges have been filed at this time.
The Daily Herald report was not able to provide enough detail to determine whether either Grothe or the woman was negligent in relation to this accident. If not, then Grothe hopefully had some kind of Med Pay coverage.

A 52-year-old victim, Mark Allen Lustfeldt, was from Oldsmar. He died in a bicycle accident in Clearwater, Florida. This was on Monday afternoon, July 28, 2014.
Lustfeldt was struck by a pickup truck, near the intersection of McMullen Booth Road and Curlew Road.
Police think the pickup driver was proceeding on a green light. The victim was in a crosswalk on his bike when he was hit. He died at Mease Countryside Hospital.
Florida’s no-fault insurance would usually cover Lustfeldt in this case. And this is going to hold true even if he failed to yield the right of way. However, his estate is not likely to have a negligence claim based upon the evidence as it is reported so far.

This crash was on Friday, July 25, 2014. It was in Saline County, Illinois, on State Route 13.
Lance P. Avery is the motorcycle rider who was killed. He lived in Creal Springs and was 60.
Police think the cause of the crash was that Avery, who was in front of Kim. H. Fowler (68 and from Harrisburg) maneuvered to the left lane at the same time Fowler was moving to the left lane. Avery was also slowing down at the same time.
Avery died at the scene.
This is a tough one in terms of negligence. Fowler could certainly argue she was not at fault because she had no way of knowing that Avery would change lanes at the same time and slow down. It depends on speed and other factors we can’t analyze yet.

Diana Marie Juarez has been killed in a car crash in Northwest Austin, Texas. This was on Sunday, July 27, 2014.
Juarez was a passenger. Police allege that the driver crashed the Dodge Neon after running a red light. If proven, this would show possible negligence on that driver’s part. Texas allows tort suits against a driver when a passenger in the same car is injured or killed. This is true whether or not the same car or driver has no-fault PIP insurance.
This happened at South Lakeline Boulevard and a US 183 service road.
The Neon was hit by a pickup truck.
Two kids in the Neon were hurt, but no one else was injured.
