WLTX, a Columbia station, has released a video about the car crash that killed Clemson University senior college student, Sarah Ann Comer. She was a passenger in a one-vehicle accident that occurred near St. Matthews, South Carolina, in Calhoun County. A driver and second passenger were injured. Click the link below to watch the video.
S.C. 287, AKA Mayberry Creek Road
The exact time was not available. But the crash occurred on the weekend of Saturday, September 14, 2013.
1. Sarah Ann Comer was a senior at Clemson. She was 21 years old and lived in Hickory Grover, South Carolina. Comer was the only victim to die in this accident.
2. Driver Barry Quattlebaum is 26 years old. He was injured and taken to the hospital. But he is also expected to survive.
3. Passenger Kelly Howell is 23. Howell was also injured, treated at the hospital, and is expected to survive.
Reports did not indicate where Quattlebaum and Howell live.
Police believe that Quattlebaum veered onto one side of the road, after which he overcorrected. It eventually collided with some trees and overturned.
It is not known yet whether Quattlebaum will be charged with any crimes over this incident.
