The following MSNBC video deals with public safety. Lately, there have been 7 unexplained fires on commercial buses in Montgomery County, Maryland, which is in the Washington, D.C. area. This video was uploaded to the MSNBC website on July 19, 2012.
Federal authorities are now doing an investigation to see if they can get to the bottom of this. This is either a design defect or some bizarre coincidence. The one thing I find weird is that the fires seem to be focused in the same geographic area. If it is a design defect, wouldn’t we be seeing the fires in other parts of the country, as well? But this also depends on who bought these Navistar buses and where they are in active service. This point was not addressed in the video but should have been addressed since it’s such an obvious oddity on its face.
Model years 2007 to 2010 are now being looked at as part of this Navistar-bus design investigation.
