MSNBC Video: Leopard Sharks In Waters Off La Jolla, California Beaches (San Diego Area)

The following MSNBC animal video comes from the NBC Nightly News. It was uploaded to their website on August 10, 2012.

A large number of leopard sharks were spotted in the water near La Jolla, California. You can see a school of these leopard sharks by playing the video below.

No one has been reported injured or attacked by these scary but apparently harmless animals. Expert Nigella Hillgarth says they are harmless, anyway. Hillgarth is the director of Scripps Birch Aquarium and also says that the sharks come there every year. She says there are about 800 of these fish off those area beaches at the present time.

She also said they are all pregnant females that are looking for shallower water. You can even bump right into these fish, and they will not bite you.

La Jolla is located in the northern part of San Diego.
