John Legend and Bridget Carrington Duets (2012) Top 8 Performance (Week 2) : I Knew You Were Waiting

Update: John Legend and Bridget Carrington performed Aretha Franklin and George Michael’s “I Knew You Were Waiting.”

Bridget Carrington is a singer who is competing on the first season of the ABC singing contest Duets. Her celebrity singing partner is John Legend. On May 31, 2012, Duets is having a 2nd Top 8 week because no singer was eliminated last week. Presumably, the scores will be combined for both weeks, and the contestant with the bottom score will be eliminated.

In the first week of the Top 8, John and Bridget sang “Tonight (Best You Ever Had).” I had Bridget ranked 6th out of 8. Bridget and John also ended up 6th out of the 8 contestants in the judges’ scoring. This means that Bridget needs  a good performance on the May 31st episode to avoid possible elimination. She can definitely survive and make the Top 8 by getting a higher score than both Jason Farol and Jordan Meredith, who are the only two contestants she beat in Top 8 scoring in the first week.

Live Show:

Bridget’s low notes are just a little odd. She should be singing higher. She tries to do some runs, but the weird low notes are stopping her from getting anything going. John is just making her look bad in this duet. But it’s not his fault. Her voice just isn’t even projecting, and it’s quivering all over the place.
