Highway 1 And Solon, Iowa Crash News: Cornell College Student, Madison “Addie” Hubert, Killed; Wilber Bigler Killed; Several Bertucci Family Members Injured

A 2-vehicle crash near Solon, Iowa, has killed a Cornell College student and a male victim. Several other occupants were injured.

Saturday night, March 23, 2013 (exact time not known)


1. Madison “Addie” Hubert was an 18-year-old Cornell College student. She was the first of two victims to be killed in this accident. This Cornell is the liberal arts college that is located in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Madison was a freshman and came from Evergreen, Colorado.

2. Walter Bigler was the second person to die. He was 68 years old and lived in West Union, Iowa.

4 members of the Bertucci family were injured. They are from Muskegon, Michigan. Hubert was riding in their car. Bigler was driving alone.

1. Jeffrey Bertucci is 46 years old.

2. Sherry Ann Bertucci is also 46.

3. Colin Bertucci is 20 and also a Cornell College student.

4. Camden Bertucci is 16 years old.

The exact medical status of the Bertucci family members was not available.


Bigler crossed over the center line, causing a collision with the Bertucci vehicle. It is not known why Bigler veered into oncoming traffic in this manner.
