Farmington, Michigan Crime News: Kaitlin E. Hehir Killed And Dismembered With a Saw; Boyfriend Allegedly Confesses To Murder

A woman is dead after her boyfriend allegedly killed her and then sawed off parts of her body. This is a relatively rare homicide crime for the Detroit, Michigan suburb of Farmington.

Where:

The victim’s home, in the 23800 block of Colchester

When:

Saturday, February 23, 2013 (exact time of murder is not known at this point in time)

Victim:

Kaitlin E. Hehir was 29 years old. She worked for the district court in Farmington.

Suspect:

The Detroit Free Press had not yet identified the suspect by name. But it is known to be a man who was the victim’s boyfriend.

Motive:

The boyfriend allegedly confessed that there was a domestic argument that got heated and then turned physical.

Criminal Charges:

The suspect has not been officially charged. First-degree murder charges would not be surprising when considering the gruesome nature of using a saw to cut up a victim. But the boyfriend may well say that he never intended to kill her and was acting on impulse in an argument instead of trying to kill the victim. If true, then the plea or conviction often ends up being second-degree murder (but every case takes its own path).
