The driver of a box truck was killed in this two-vehicle crash. He slammed into the rear end of a tractor-trailer. The other driver was injured.

Victims Killed:

1. Robert Styers was 34 and lived in Columbia, Maryland.

Victims Injured:

Daniel Kitchen was the driver of the big rig. He was injured but is expected to survive. Kitchen is 36 and from Elkton, Maryland.

Cause:

For some reason, Styers hit the rear of Kitchen’s trailer. Police believe that Kitchen had slowed down for traffic ahead. While this is not certain, it would not be surprising if Styers simply did not see that Kitchen had reduced speed.

Criminal Charges?

There are no charges at this time.
