A man has been arrested for a deadly crash that occurred when he he was driving the wrong way down the road. He is suspected of drunk driving. 1 victim was killed, and 3 people were injured (including the suspect).
This was a 3-vehicle accident. The suspect was driving an Infiniti. The car with the one victim killed was a taxi. A 3rd car – a Mazda – struck the taxi as the result of a chain reaction. But no one in the Mazda was injured.

1. One male passenger in the taxi was killed. At the time of this report, that person’s name had not yet been released.
1. The taxi driver is 31-year-old Azmach Ejersa. He sustained major injuries. Ejersa lives in Emeryville, California.
2. An unidentified passenger in the taxi sustained major injuries.
Zachary Katz is 24 and from Stanford. He also suffered serious injuries.
Police say that Katz was driving the wrong way down Highway 1. This naturally eventually resulted in a collision with the vehicles traveling in the right direction.
Katz is still in the hospital and has not been formally charged. But he is under arrest on suspicion of drunk driving. Charges of vehicular manslaughter are also a strong possibility if the toxicology report shows that he was legally intoxicated.
