A Campbell University student has been killed in a one-vehicle crash that occurred in Harnett County, North Carolina. A 2nd victim was injured.

Where:

4200 block of N.C. Highway 55 West

When:

Friday, August 2, 2013, at about 3 in the morning

Victims:

1. Matthew Tucker was the Campbell Univ. student killed in this accident. He was 22 years old and lived in Raleigh, North Carolina.

2. Adam Ambrosetti was the lone passenger in the vehicle that crashed. His exact medical status and other personal details were not yet available.

Cause:

Police believe that speed was a contributing factor in this accident. Tucker failed to negotiate a curve, causing the vehicle to go off the road. He overcorrected at that point, slamming into a tree. The vehicle also overturned. Although it was early morning, there was no mention of drunk driving.
