This crash involved a Toyota car and a bus that was carrying a football team (including coaches and cheerleaders) from Fort Wayne, Indiana’s University of Saint Francis. No one on the bus was injured. The man who was a passenger in the Toyota was killed. The female driver was injured.

1. Joshua Walberg was 21 years old.
Shawnna Popenhagen is also 21. She was seriously injured.
No conclusions have been drawn yet. But police say an investigation preliminarily suggests that Walberg grabbed the steering wheel during an argument. This is not an allegation on my part. I am just repeating what police either discovered or were told. It was not clear whether Popenhagen told them this or if they have this information through some other means. At any rate, Popenhagen lost control and ended up perpendicular to traffic. The car was then struck in the side by the Saint Francis bus.
There are no charges at this time.
