Time: About 5 in the evening

City / County / State: Cherokee County, South Carolina

Address: Interstate 85, near Mile Marker 106

Victims Killed:

1. Krystal Pearce was 18 years old. She lived in Harbeson, Delaware.

Victims Injured:

The other Southern Wesleyan student injured, Pearce’s passenger, had not yet been identified.

Cause:

For some reason, Pearce lost control of the vehicle while driving. It drifted into the median and all the way across to the opposite lanes of traffic. This caused a head-on collision with a big-rig truck.

Criminal Charges?

There are no charges at this time. Unless there is new information, it doesn’t seem like any survivors committed crimes in connection with this crash.
