Address: Intersection of Patterson Avenue and 36th Street

Victims Killed:

1. Andrea Herrera was 20 and lived in Lowell, Michigan.

2. Eric Fisher was 23 and lived in Gaines Township, Michigan.

Victims Injured:

Eric Walton was the truck driver. He was injured but is expected to survive. Walton is 50 and from Grand Rapids, MI.


Joseph Jay Ford is 27 years old. He is from Wyoming, Michigan (a town in Kent County). Ford was also injured, but he was already released.


Ford collided with the Fisher/Herrera vehicle in the intersection. Both vehicles then collided with Walton’s truck. It was not clear from the reports who had the right of way.

Criminal Charges?

WZZM reports that Ford is charged with two counts of operating while impaired causing death (a type of manslaughter).
