Conway, Washington Accident News Video: Motorcycle Police Officer Sean O’Connell Killed When Struck By Truck

A motorcycle cop with the Washington State Patrol was struck and killed in Conway, Washington, while he was directing traffic.

Friday, May 31, 2013, at about 5:45 in the afternoon


Sean O’Connell was the motorcycle cop killed in this case. He had been with the Washington State Patrol for 16 years. Sean was 38 years old.


The person who was driving the truck was not identified by name. But he (or she) is 49 years old and lives in Mount Vernon, Washington.


The exact cause is not known at this time. What is known is that the victim was directing traffic for a detour that was set up because of the recent collapse of the Skagit River bridge.

Criminal Charges:

The driver of the truck has not been charged at this time. Although anything is possible, the authorities believe at this time that O’Connell’s death was just an unfortunate accident.
