The following CNN news video comes from HLN’s Nancy Grace show. It is about a teenage girl shot and killed in Fort Worth, Texas. The video was uploaded to the CNN website on July 5, 2012.
The girl – Claudia Hidic – was found dead near the back door of an upscale home. The owner of that residence called 911, but it appears that he is turning himself into a suspect because he is reportedly refusing to cooperate with the Fort Worth police.
The home owner initially denied knowing Claudia at all. Then, he stopped talking for some reason. A description of the scene revealed that the back door appeared to have been kicked in.
This shooting is a bit complicated now. I could think of several scenarios. Perhaps someone else was kicking in the door, and Claudia was in the wrong place at the wrong time and got shot when the home owner thought she was the intruder. Maybe Claudia was an accomplice to a burglary and hung around too long while her cohort or cohorts took off. Maybe Claudia was trying to kick in the door and burglarize the place. Yeah, that may be unlikely. But we can’t rule it out at this point.
Perhaps the home owner killed her for some unknown reason and then kicked the door in to make it look like a burglary attempt. We just don’t know at this point what happened.
Note: An unknown witness said he saw four girls and a dog running away from the house after multiple gunshots. Perhaps the girls dared each other to break into a home, with Claudia Hidic being the one to pay the price. Perhaps it was a setup of Claudia by one or more of the girls, made to look like a burglary. There are innumerable possibilities here. But if four girls were running away and they have not come forward, then that does suggest they were up to no good. Eventually, one of them will probably feel guilty and come forward if they had something to do with getting 17-year-old Claudia Hidic killed.
Final Note: The fact that someone does not cooperate with police is definitely not a telltale sign of guilt. Lawyers routinely tell people not to talk to the police even if they are innocent. I won’t go into the reasons for this in this article. But that’s just the way it is.
