The following is a report from KARE. It is a weather video and was posted to the CNN website on June 22, 2012.
In this flood video from Northeast Minnesota (Thompson), you can see the story of a couple being rescued. There is also a good image of Vermillion Street. It looks like a river flowing down the street, and the current is rather strong.
The flood waters came from the Thompson Reservoir.
John Isaacson is a resident who appears on the video. He was crazy enough to stay in the neighborhood.
The rescued couple were Alan and Linda Johnson. They own a photography studio in the neighborhood and were inside at the time of the flood.
A rescue helicopter from the Coast Guard Search and Rescue Team came and took the Johnsons to safety.
