The following CNN crime news video comes from HLN’s Nancy Grace show. It was uploaded to the CNN website on July 26, 2012. This incident occurred in Slidell, Louisiana.
Richard Hartman, his mom, and his fiancee were at home when the mom and fiancee got into an argument. According to Richard, he heard some shuffling back and forth after arguing. He says he then went into the kitchen and broke them up. After turning his back to leave the room again, Hartman said his mom stabbed his fiancee. She apparently also laughed and said she hoped the fiancee would die.
The mother’s name is Joan Faye Hartman, and she is under arrest. The fiancee who was killed is Tanya Knower. She was 27.
Richard is interviewed in the video below. He said he restrained his mom until police arrived after he called 911.
Hartman has two girls, and the fiancee was their mother. He hasn’t told them the whole truth you cause he thinks they are too young to know what happened.
