A few days ago, I reported on a missing cheerleader from the Columbia, South Carolina area. Her name is Gabbie Swainson, and she disappeared from her bedroom, seemingly without a trace. Freddie Grant, who is an acquaintance of the family, quickly became a suspect when he instantly said he wanted a lawyer when approached for routine questioning.
There is some speculation about whether Elvia Swainson, Gabby’s mom, was dating suspect Freddie Grant. This is not necessarily relevant, but it could play a part in the disappearance to the extent that it might provide a motive for Elvia Swainson to protect Grant in the event he abducted or harmed Gabbie.
The CNN crime news video below is from the Nancy Grace TV show, which is broadcast on HLN. It discusses this speculation about the relationship between Elvia Swainson and Freddie Grant.
Nancy is skirting the issue about why this possible dating relationship could be important. It is a lead. And leads produce other leads that can potentially break a case wide open. It seems like Grace has already decided that Freddie Grant did something and did it alone, AND that mom Elvia Swainson doesn’t know anything about it. She is playing dumb or something here because she knows a lot more about the investigative process than this. Her claims that that the mom and Freddie Grant may have been dating is irrelevant is a very odd thing to say for someone who is supposed to be a specialist in criminal investigations.
Wake up people. Mr Grant did something to Gabbie and the other girl. The sheriff I hope is working harder then he started. Can they get a time line from the 3am when gabbie home until the first sighting of him helping out. He had quite a few hours to do something with her. Can they figure how far from the pings and milage on Mr Grants car how far he could have gone, any dug up fresh dirt around his home, across the street at the church?
I have to agree that something is not quite right with the mother, Elvia Swainson.
She described Freddie Grant as a handyman, someone who was simply doing work around the home but she was sleeping with him. Why lie about it?
Also, although the Sheriff said that Elvia regularly goes and does her Blue Cross/Blue Shield paperwork at irregular hours, her own sister-in-law, Tara Swainson, said this was the first time she left her daughter at 3am, according to the Charlotte Observer.
Then you add in the whole iPhone thing and it does make you wonder.
Of course, looks like Freddie Grant is guilty based on the evidence found so far, however, based on Mom’s omissions you can’t help but wonder if there more to the story involving the mother?
