The following CNN entertainment news video has an interview with comedian and TV host Jeff Foxworthy. It aired on the Piers Morgan show and was added to the CNN website on August 21, 2012.
Piers says that both he and Foxworthy are Christians. And he asks Jeff if being Christian has come to be known as a bad thing in America.
Foxworthy provides a pretty refreshing answer. He says it is a branding problem and that some of it Christians probably brought upon themselves. He says he is more worried about Christians having a problem with “American Bible Challenge” than secular folks. Jeff says that a lot of Christians have lost the importance of being joyful.
Piers says it is often the inflammatory way in which some Christians express their beliefs that turns people off. Foxworthy then says that Jesus embraced everyone, such as the gamblers and the prostitutes. He drew people to him, which is the opposite of what many Christians are doing, such as with homosexuals.
Jeff then says he can’t talk about whether the Bible should be taken literally because he is not smart enough to know such a thing.
