Maurice and Shanice Hayes performed in the first live group of 12 in the Top 48 for the 7th season of America’s Got Talent. This episode was broadcast on July 2, 2012.
If we go by the judges’s comments then this father/daughter duo has a good chance of making it to the next round. Overall, it was somewhat underwhelming. I am not hearing a lot of natural soul in this duo. But they at least got a partial standing ovation (if Nick was right).
Sharon says they were spot on and feels that they will go several rounds. Howie thinks that Maurice redeemed himself tonight and agrees with Sharon. Howard also loved the act. He thinks the father is the heart of the act and that the daughter is the star of the duo.
Having been disappointed with every singing act tonight, I expect this Hayes duo to easily make it to the next round. They will get one of the top 3 spots from the public vote.
