Ben Blaque does a crossbow act. He has made it to the Top 48 of America’s Got Talent 7. Ben’s group of 12 contestants will perform for the public vote on July 10, 2012.
I give Ben Blaque extremely low odds of advancing to the Top 24. Let me guess. He will come out and shoot a crossbow, hitting some apples or some other object. Ben may also go blindfolded and let his assistant tell him where to aim.
There is no reason to believe that Ben Blaque has anything but a very low chance of making it out of the Top 48.
Most people with a decent aim could do what Ben does. Yeah, he’s probably in the top 3 percent of shooters. But that does not make a Vegas-quality show or an act that is going to get a lot of votes on America’s Got Talent. It is melodramatic. You suspect he is going to succeed hitting something with an arrow because the act is too easy. And if he does miss, then of course he is not going to get many votes. Either way, Ben does something easy or messes up something easy. He is cannon fodder and will not make the Top 24 of AGT 7.

Ben is going next to last, and Tim Hockenberry is going last. This gives Ben a better-than-expected chance to make it, but it will still be hard with this type of act.
There was little to no talent in this act. He shot some balloons. Wow.
Howard grossly overpraised this act. He thinks America will put him through. Sharon and Howie both said they loved it, too. This is just way overrated. What are they looking at? Or do the judges just know nothing about shooting?
