America’s Got Talent 7 Las Vegas Round – Luiz Meneghin Audition

Luiz Meneghin came into the Las Vegas auditions as one of my personal favorites. Although I preferred him somewhat over Andrew De Leon in the opera category, it was obvious (at least before the Las Vegas round) that Andrew is probably the favorite to win the whole America’s Got Talent 7 contest.

Luiz, Andrew, and Simply Sergio were all placed in the “favorites” group on the Monday Las Vegas episode of June 25, 2012. Their group of three was also featured and ended the show as the last auditions.

Unfortunately, it sounded to me like Luiz picked a song that was too fast, and it sounded like he made some technical bobbles, as well. When asked by the judges how his performance went, he said it could have been better.

The possible saving grace for Luiz is that Simply Sergio completely bombed, and Andrew De Leon also froze up from nervousness and missed part of the performance. However, it seems that there was a lot of interesting editing going on. So we don’t really know how well Luiz and Andrew did and really never will know.

The results were not revealed on this Monday broadcast. We should find out on Wednesday whether Luiz Meneghin made the top 48. I don’t even want to predict what is going to happen here, but I am almost certain that Andrew will make the Top 48 voting rounds, with Luiz having less of chance. But I do believe there is room for two opera singers. So I hope we see Luiz in those voting rounds even though he had a questionable Las Vegas audition.
