American Idol 11 (2012) Jessica Sanchez Finale Song Choices and News Items

Jessica Sanchez has just made the finale on the 11th season of American Idol. She is the first contestant to be saved by the judges who has made the finals. Now, she gets a chance to go against Philip Phillips and be the first saved contestant to win. Joshua Ledet was eliminated in 3rd place.

Jessica will sing three songs during the performance episode of the finale, which airs live on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. The show starts at 8 Eastern and last one hour.

This season, we have not found out about song choices until a few hours before the show. Hopefully, they will release them early this week since we are heading into the finale. Bookmark this page and check back daily. I will post Sanchez’s song choices when they are released to the public.

There usually is not much additional news on the contestants throughout the week because they are busy getting ready for their performances and doing media stuff for Idol. But if I find out any juicy news about Jessica before Tuesday, I will post that here, too. We do know she was a bit sick last night, but she sounded fine then and tonight in the group performance.

Updates:

1. The theme for the finale has been revealed. Jessica will sing her favorite performance of hers from the whole season, a song selected by producer Simon Fuller, and her winner’s single.

Here are the songs that Jessica performed in the finale:

1. Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” – Simon Fuller pick

2. “The Prayer” – personal pick (good choice)

3. “Change Nothing” – winner’s single

Apparently, there was a list of songs to choose from. While we don’t know if any of the other songs were better or whether Philip and Jessica picked from the same group, it is generally believed that Jessica made a bad pick here with “Change Nothing.”
